GenderInSITE Panel – Focusing the Gender Lens on Science and Innovation

GenderInSITE held its soft launch on February 16, 2014 at the AAAS Meeting in Chicago.

A GenderInSITE pre-launch event was held on February 16, 2014 at the 2014 Meetings of the American Association for the Advancement of Sciences (AAAS) in Chicago: "Focusing the Gender Lens on Science and Innovation: Improving Lives and Livelihoods". Participants from four regions discussed the contributions can make to SITE research, policy and programming, as well as the role SITE can play in supporting the lives and livelihoods of women and men. The panel was moderated by Dr. Shirley Malcom, co-Chair of GenderInSITE and Director, Education and Human Resources, AAAS.

2. Promotion of Women in Science in Africa: UNESCO/ANSTI GenderInSITE Partnership - Dr. Peggy Oti-Boateng, Africa Network of Science and Technology Institutions, Kenya

3. The Role of Arab Women in Addressing Global Environmental and Development Challenges in the Region – Dr. Samira Omar, VP Arab States, Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD), Program Director, Kuwaiti Institute for Scientific Research, Kuwait.
